ANTI-DRUG TASK FORCE
This task force comprised of 12 lay members and 2 pastors is working with local and state officials, local judges and the court system.
PURPOSE:
To identify ways to curtail the illegal, unauthorized or abusive activity related to legal or illicit drugs (as defined by Kentucky Revised Statute) in Powell County; to establish and coordinate the Court Watch Program; and to establish and coordinate the Neighborhood Watch Programs in Powell County.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To affect positive changes to regain a high quality of life for all citizens of Powell County through the efforts of the Powell County Ministerial Association and Powell County Christians United Against Drugs and the establishment of an organized system to address the drug problem in Powell County.
ONE YEAR PLAN:
Establish a website with drug tip line and drug help line. Web address will be www.pcm-a.org. Website will include an email box for the drug tip line and a box for the drug help line.
Establish drug tip and drug help line via cell phone to be rotated among the ministers of the Powell County Ministerial Association or qualified counselors.
Establish a Court Watch Program.
Establish a Neighborhood Watch Program.
Provide yard signs for visibility. Include website address and phone numbers.

Many of the items included in the one year plan have been accomplished and/or they are continuing at this time. The website, drug help and drug tip lines have been established and functioning since February 2006. The Court Watch Program is up and running and there are plans to make some of the information available on the website in the future. Yard signs have been posted throughout the county and this effort continues. More information will be made available and posted on this website as we continue the effort - stay tuned!
